INDUSTRIAL STEEL STRUCTURESSubstations

Substations are the facilities located in the connection points of transferring of electric energy from the generation system to the transmission system and, from the transmission system to the distribution system.

These facilities receive the electric energy from the high voltage energy transmission lines, reduce it to the levels of intermediate and low voltages and distribute to the consumers.

Steel structures for substations are designed and manufactured by taking into account the following types of substations:

  • Air insulated substations with outdoor switchyard (AIS): These are the facilities generally from 36kV to 800kV installed with outdoor switchyard.
  • SF6 gas insulated substations with enclosure installed in outdoor and indoor locations (GIS): These are the substation facilities installed in outdoor / enclosed locations to reduce the intermediate voltage to the low voltage.
  • Mobile substations: These are the substations and distribution centers manufactured on mobile platforms to meet the requirements of emergency energy, provisional energy demand and additional powers.

Steel structures are manufactured in the forms of lattice or pole type, column-beam support, type A welded columns, welded supports, H/I or pipe/box welded supports and, are delivered as galvanized and/or painted.
